i will testify to love
i'll be a witness in the silences when words are not enough
with every breath I take I will give thanks to God above
for as long as I shall live
i will testify to love
"but if we've forgotten," lucille said, turning to me, "we don't always remember that we forgot, so that to remember that we forgot is not exactly forgetting, is it?"
it's the end of 2008. 2008 has been one hell of a year for me, settling back into singapore, leaving singapore, getting my first real job, deciding to leave my first real job. breaking up with my (almost) live in boyfriend of 2 years, relationship dramas, huge amounts of dilemmas, moving to dubai, beginning a new life, settling in and finding my way here.
i would have to say the best thing i did for myself in 2008 was to be brave enough to pick up and leave, all over again. i am loving this job and everything it brings me. it's fantastic.
so bring on 2009, i couldn't be more excited : ) happy new yearrrr everyone! may 2009 be the year with nothing and no one to hold you down, or pull you back, no set goals to achieve and fulfill, so that everyday will be an exciting adventure with endless possibilities. and really...you never know where life can take you : )
yay! i feel like wearing pink socks and jumping around.
i cooked fried rice for lunch.
i have morphed into an eating machine. i eat and eat and eat. and eating makes me happy....that is before the guilt starts creeping in.
do you remember this channel 8 drama serial that used to have this senile old man who only knew how to say 'gei wo yi dian chi de ba'?
yes. gei wo yi dian chi de ba.
till i get back to dubai, im still secretly wishing the wallet will magically appear somewhere. take my cash for all i care, i just want my cards and stuff back. i hope they will let me collect my laundry even though my laundry receipts got pick pocketed as well.
adventure hey?
p.s - milan is truly beautiful
i'm loving johannesburg : )
today we went to festival city and shopped around; we tried on shoes that cost a thousand bucks and boots that look a million bucks, we tried on gorgeous silk dresses and tottered around the changing room with marc jacobs' bags. we combed every fancy schmanzy looking store, and at the end of the day, i bought a packet of sweet oats cookies that cost a dollar fifty.
sometimes, once in a while, it's nice to play pretend.
i am so excited! i'm gonna go home with an empty suitcase and stock up on nice instant noodles, kecap manis, prima paste, soup herbs and everything that will feed me well. -rubs tummy- i grilled myself some honey lemon chicken tonight which was pretty nice, but i'm actually thinking of the bah chor mee from simpang bedok...

back to the books and studying! it's so weird that sundays are mondays here, how are people supposed to go to church? i really should look for a church here. have a good weekend everyone! : )
i wonder when i will get married......and who will actually marry me. hur.
i've just cleared out my table and it seems a little weird. i like my little work space, with my plant and my beach and surf pictures. today i'll bring home all my junk, and my slippers and spare heels, there'll be no more flip flops to change into or little snacks stashed in my drawers.
i'll miss you icon and iconites. you're great and you're wonderful. i really couldn't have had a better first job, and better work mates. it's been a huge blast and i know i'll feel a little lost come monday when my body clock wakes me up at 7.30 and i have no job to go to.
one more media monitoring report to complete (chap) and one more day to go! : )
as i sit at my table typing and replying the many emails that are continuously streaming in, and sending out a thousand and one press releases and media advisories, my sub conscious mind is thinking about hoppy globbing. i've always liked the word hoppy glob. i'd like to see places i've never seen, or places that have faded from my memory. i want to fly, i want to see india, amsterdam, egypt, cuba, rio, greece, mexico, cambodia, prague, london, alaska, kenya, moscow, paris. everywhere. i'm going to make a list of all the places i want to visit, and i'm going to bid for my flights. emirates work on a bidding system, and you can actually earn points and bid for flights to places that you want to go to, i like that idea. hahhah
countdown. 28 days!
a small countdown of days:
7 to the start of the week- long camp at suntec convention hall (oh the horror)
19 to the last day at icon (15 more work days)
33 till i fly off to dubai and a whole new chapter of my life begins
i would think that after having moved around so much (4 apartments in brisbane), i would be pretty skilled in packing, but i think i will have some trouble deciding what to pack in my 50kg limit luggages. ayee c'est impossible! i'm not a light packer by any stretch of the imagination, i went to australia with 90kg of luggages, and came back with nearly 300kg after dumping about half the stuff i accumulated. clothes, make up, shoes, bags, coats for when i go to cold countries, photographs. i even want to pack some nice bedsheets and fairy lights for my new room. how do you pack to move your life to another country, and you don't even know when's the next time you'll get to come back?
concentrate! concentrate!
anyway, this is one of the sweetest videos i've watched so far. the song is quite tremendously beautiful and listening to it makes my heart squeeze into a tight ball.
